Lipa Racket Club opens in Mataas na Lupa

Lipa Racket Club opened a new multi-sport venue along Mercado Access Road, Mataas na Lupa, welcoming players to modern indoor facilities designed primarily for badminton, with pickleball courts set to follow, Jan. 12.

The facility features six badminton courts equipped with Grade 3 BWF-approved mats, catering to training sessions, casual games, and tournament-level play. Two of these courts are designed to be convertible for pickleball, while an additional US-standard pickleball court further highlights the club’s multi-sport layout.

Shuttlehub PH serves as the official court provider of Lipa Racket Club, supplying the mats used in the facility. The partnership ensures that players experience court conditions that meet recognized standards, promoting safety, comfort, and improved performance during play.

Now in its soft opening phase, Lipa Racket Club is currently accepting reservations for badminton courts only. Pickleball play is not yet available as the management continues preparations toward full operations, including final equipment installation and operational adjustments.

The 1,600-square-meter active space houses a total of seven premium courts, positioning the club as one of the larger indoor racket sports venues in Lipa City and nearby areas. Due to the ongoing operations adjustments, court availability is presently handled on a first-come, first-served basis.

Paula Rica Lubid, a member of the UBLC Badminton Team, shared her perspective on the presence of another facility in Lipa City.

“I think the opening of Lipa Racket Club is a great development for badminton players in our area. It also shows that the sport is growing and that the athletes are being given more opportunities to train in a proper and more supportive environment,” she said.

When asked how the facility could benefit players like her, Lubid emphasized the importance of access to quality courts, noting that the badminton court provides athletes with a proper training venue, better equipment, and a consistent place to practice. She added that training in a professional setting can enhance performance and motivate athletes to train harder.

Lubid also highlighted the value of having high-quality training venues available to student-athletes.

“Having a high-quality training ground is very important because it supports both my athletic and personal growth. It also allows me to train safely and effectively while balancing my responsibilities as a student-athlete,” Lubid said.

Moreover, Lubid shared her intention to regularly train at the Lipa Racket Club, citing the facility’s high-quality environment as a key factor in helping her develop her skills, gain more experience, and better prepare for upcoming competitions.

Lipa Racket Club is currently completing its final touches and is expected to attract badminton and pickleball players from Lipa City and neighboring towns once fully operational. Management also encouraged interested players to follow official announcements for updates on schedules, rates, and full access as the club transitions into complete operations soon within the year locally.
